Case Study Follow Up – Fully Recovered!

Seedy Toe

Last year a horse was presented at the vets with “Seedy Toe”. This is a separation of the horses hoof wall from the underlying sensitive laminae at the white line, resulting in a cavity which is prone to infection.  This is also know as white line disease.

Berkshire Farriers treated the horse by applying heart bar shoes, with a Thermo plastic pad and Equi-Pak for support.  After regular visits from the team, the lateral wall has been rebuilt and the horse is now back in regular shoes without the need for any pads or packing.

As you can see from the final photo (below), the horse has made a full recovery with no side effects and is back out competing successfully!
